Game Analysis:

Wow. Just wow. I don’t know if there are words to describe this series’s first two games. I’ll openly admit I was one of the people who laughed at the Warriors when they lucked into this first-round match-up. I thought for sure they had stunk during the regular season but still managed to get the easiest matchup in round one, so they’d luck their way through the playoffs again. But um. I blinked, the Warriors are down 2-0 and Draymond Green is going to be watching the game from the same spot as the rest of us tomorrow. Give me the Kings in a Gentleman’s sweep.

The Warriors this year have been so different than they were last year. Which yes I know is a dumb statement, who knew teams change over time, but this has been a drastic difference in ability that has left me incredibly surprised. Last year, if everyone remembers, this team won a Championship against my Boston Celtics. And this year they barely snuck into the playoffs and won only one of every four games on the road. You won’t win many playoff series if you can’t win on the road, especially when you’re the lower seed in a matchup. Also, regardless of how you feel about Draymond getting a suspension for stomping on Sabonis, you can’t argue that the team felt the loss in his defensive presence. In the fourth quarter after Draymond left the Kings shifted from one of their worst offensive performances to one of their best. They shot 10-15 after Draymond left and you’re telling me the Warriors have to go through that for a full game? Yikes.

The Kings are hot right now. They’ve kept their home-court advantage and they’ve done it off of some clutch play from Fox. The first inaugural clutch player of the year showcased why he won the award last night with a dagger three in clutch time to help put the game away. And as much as LeBron is doing his best to pretend old players can still play, age catches up to most people. This Kings team is simply younger, and much more active than the veteran Warriors core. The Kings outshot the Warriors by eight to ten baskets and almost doubled the amount of steals the Warriors had. This game is just the NBA version of the moment where your dad finally ages out of being able to beat you one-on-one, and not because you become better than him, but just because he is now too slow to keep up with you.

The Warrior’s time has come and gone. The Kings are the future of the game. Give me the Kings to get one game closer to the sweep. Bet on the Kings, and get $100 in bonus bets instantly!
