What happens when a superheated knife meets butter? I don’t actually know the answer, but I think it’s a similar outcome to what will happen when the Orioles match up against the Rockies. We are talking about one of the best teams in baseball playing one of the worst teams in baseball. I mean I’m looking at way more than just the moneyline in this game. This series is going to be a beatdown of epic proportions, and I will be watching every second of it. I see it as being a great confidence boost for the Orioles as they head into the postseason.
The Colorado Rockies have been this season what they have been every season. A bit of a disappointment. Although I am not entirely sure if you can call something a disappointment if you didn’t have any faith in it to begin with. They are currently 48 and 76 sitting bottom of the National League West. I don’t have many nice things to say about this team unfortunately, not because I dislike them but just because they’re pretty bad. I guess Ryan McMahon has been having a solid season with 21 dingers, 65 RBIs, and a batting average of .256. So I guess that’s something to talk about? But this team has a bad habit of shutting down whenever they play good to great teams, and Baltimore is one of the bests so my expectations are not exactly high.
The Baltimore Orioles have been insane this season. I’m looking at a record of 77 and 47 and top of the American League East. I’m looking at the likes of Gunnar Henderson and Anthony Santander in this batting lineup. These guys are some of the cream of the crop when it comes to batting. Gunnar Henderson has 21 home runs, 61 RBIs, and a batting average of .249. And Anthony is not much more behind him with 21 home runs to his own name, 65 RBIs, and a batting average of .248. When you have two guys in your batting rotation that can consistently send the ball yard, other teams begin to worry. Especially when those other teams are the Colorado Rockies. Also shoutout to Kyle Braddish who has pitched 23 games and has managed to keep an ERA of 3.03.
