Game Analysis:

Imagine telling somebody recently that after week 1, Colorado would be ranked above teams such as Clemson. However, that is exactly where we stand, as the Deion Sanders era could not be off to a better start. Coach Prime not only has his team as the most talked about team in the whole country right now, but he also has them back in the AP rankings coming in at 22, following a season where the Buffs won a single game. Clearly, this is a different team however, with 53 transfers coming in from the portal, and making an immediate impact with an electric 45-42 road victory against the reigning national runner-up TCU. This week, they will be tasked with not having a huge letdown following all this newfound hype, and their rest will be the Nebraska Cornhuskers, who are led by new Head Coach Matt Rhule. While the Buffaloes will try to stay unbeaten, the Huskers will be looking for a big win to jump-start their season, following a narrow week 1 loss.

This season represents a new era for the visiting Nebraska Cornhuskers, who signed Head Coach Matt Rhule to a big deal following his stint in the NFL. It was almost a great start to this era, as the Huskers led late in week 1 on the road against Minnesota, but gave up a late touchdown, followed by a field goal as time expired for a heartbreaking 13-10 loss. The offense couldn’t get much going, managing just one touchdown, and the defense could only bend for so long before breaking late. This is still not a team that can be overlooked, however, and their new QB Jeff Sims, who came over from Georgia Tech, is still an explosive dual-threat weapon. The defense will need to have another shutdown road performance in order for the Huskers to have a chance in this one, but we all know that won’t be easy after seeing what Colorado did in week 1.

I’m sure you’ve all heard about the home team in this matchup, the Colorado Buffaloes, by now, as they’ve become the most talked about team in the nation seemingly overnight. Despite all the headlines they had coming in, with the arrival of Coach Prime and all his transfers, they seemed to be fairly overlooked by the football world. That is no longer the case following their week 1 win at TCU, and suddenly Coach Prime, who hyped up his team and incoming players all summer, seems to have been correct about his squad. Travis Hunter did something we haven’t seen in week 1, which is play both offense and defense, as he logged over 125 total snaps, and made a huge impact on both sides of the ball, including an interception on defense, and 11 receptions for 119 yards on offense. The man throwing him the ball, Shedeur Sanders, had a spectacular Colorado debut as well, completing over 80% of his passes for a ridiculous 510 yards and 4 touchdowns. RB Dylan Edwards made a name for himself as well, hauling in 5 catches for 135 yards and 3 touchdowns. Edwards notably flipped his commitment to Colorado from Notre Dame, following the hire of Coach Prime, and that sure seems to be a massive pickup for the Buffaloes, as he is just one of their (very early) Heisman candidates. Absolutely everyone is high on this Colorado team, and I don’t really know how you can’t be after last week’s show, and I’m not going to be the one to pick against them this week at home. Expect another great performance from the Buffaloes in Coach Prime’s home debut.

The Colorado Buffaloes are a class above Nebraska. Bet on Colorado and get $200 in bonus bets!
