Is Texas back? Sure Rice is not the most outrageous opponent but they looked solid. People forget that Quin Ewers was winning last year against Alabama until he was injured. When this team is on, they’re on and not much can stop them. Losing Bijan Robinson hurt them a bit but their new guys seemed solid. I would definitely rank Alabama’s run game higher than Texas’ but the Longhorns are no slouch on the ground. That being said Texas might just have a better air attack. Quin Ewers has a beautiful head of hair and a beautiful arm to go along with it. The Longhorns also really showed out on defense but their first real test will come against ‘Bama. I think this game will be pretty close, but will Alabama be able to win this game at home as the favorites?
If you ask me I would say probably, but not by much. Both of these SEC (well they will both soon be) Texans had less than challenging opponents in week one, but Alabama did a better job handling them. The Crimson Tide only allowed one touchdown while the Longhorns let up 10 points, and Alabama scored significantly more. Jalen Milroe seems to have his starting job on lock and while he might not put up incredibly high numbers every week, he will be efficient and limit turnovers. Alabama has probably the best secondary in college football, but man does Texas have some scary receiving threats. Like I said before, Alabama should probably win this game, but let’s all put some respect on Texas’ name before it’s too late to hop on the wagon.
