Game Analysis:
Week 8 of college football is here and boy are we excited. Iowa is a powerhouse of a team and ranked 24 in the nation right now. Although this may seem pretty low for them being 6-1 there are still other teams that are undefeated and deserve the rankings that they are. I’m not too sure how Minnesota is going to hold up against Iowa especially since their record is 3-3 right now.
Minnesota is kicking off their week in Iowa and it’s not looking too hot for them right now. Last week they played Michigan, who is very high in the rankings, and got blown out 52-10. This game was an atrocious watch if you are a Minnesota student or fan. Minnesota’s quarterback, Athan Kaliakmanis, only had 52 passing yards and went 5/15 with 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. I’m no football expert but this is a terrible stat line. Hopefully the rest of the team can do something against Iowa and make this an interesting game.
Last week Iowa didn’t have the greatest game either but still came out of the game with a win over Wisconsin. Their quarterback also didn’t have the greatest game like Minnesota’s. Quarterback Deacon Hill went 6/14 with passing attempts and only had 37 passing yards. Running back Leshon Williams carried the team on his back last game despite his quarterback’s atrocious game. Williams had 25 carries, 174 rushing yards and 1 touchdown. This was a boring game to watch unless you were watching Williams.
Both teams are looking for the win this week but I feel as if it is lopsided. Iowa is a better team than Minnesota. Let’s hope this is actually a good game with a lot of action and not an absolute blow out or a barn burner.
