Ladies and gentlemen, it’s March but let’s not forget about the great sport of hockey. The playoffs approach and as teams jostle for position we have a fantastic matchup between the Canes and Isles. Let’s break it down.
Now I don’t want to be brutal but the Canadiens are not an amazing hockey team this year. With a record of 28-31-12 they are 8th in the Atlantic division. 27th in goals scored per game and 25th in goals allowed per game, I just don’t feel confident taking them against most teams in the League. Nick Suzuki has been solid, but without more support wins will be tough to come by. Will they be able to squeak one out against the Canes?
If you ask me I would say probably not. The Hurricanes are 46-21-7 and second in the division. On paper a much better team. They’re 7th in the league scoring 3.38 goals a game and 4th in the league on defense only letting up 2.62 goals a game. Aho has been absolutely unreal and the Canes’ supporting cast has done a fantastic job helping him and getting wins. Give me the Hurricanes to win this one.
