Ladies and Gentlemen the NFL season continues with what should be some great Thursday night action between the Washington Commanders and the Chicago Bears. It’s a battle between a team that is overperforming and one that is underperforming. Here is what you should know.

Sure they might have lost last week, but man the Commanders played the Super Bowl runner-up pretty damn close, forcing an overtime period. The Commanders’ offense is pretty middle of the road, but the team is ahead of the Bears in most statistical categories on both sides of the ball. Sam Howell has had flashes of brilliance, especially the way he played last weekend throwing for almost 300 yards with no picks and a touchdown. The receiving corps of Scary Terry, Curtis Samuel, Dotson, and Logan Thomas is kind of obscene. That is such a stacked receiver room with a solid safety blanket at tight end. Brian Robinson continues to be a solid running back and has already notched three scores in this young season. In my opinion, the Commanders have one of the better defensive fronts in the league as the crew of Sweat, Young, and Allen is too much for a lot of offensive lines. Will that be enough to win at home against what has been a struggling Bears team up to this point?

If you ask me, honestly, I would not be able to give you a definitive answer. Last week in their brutal choke job loss to the Broncos Chicago seemed to kind of buy back into Justin Fields. Fields threw for over 330 yards with four touchdowns and only one interception. He seems to really be making a conscious effort to be better in the pocket, which sometimes takes away from his scrambling ability. DJ Moore is fitting right into this offense and playing very well so far, and Cole Kmet really had himself a game last week and is looking to build off of that. After losing David Montgomery the rushing offense has struggled a bit, but Khalil Herbert has started to kick it into gear rushing for over 100 yards and a score against the Broncos. I think this game should be pretty close, and maybe the home-field advantage of playing in Washington will be enough for the Commanders to take the win. Anything could happen in this one and I would most likely not be surprised. These teams are pure chaos.
