Game Analysis:
The Grizzlies have struggled to lock in so far in the playoffs, and as a result they find themselves down two games to one against LeBron and the Lakers. Game three was tough to watch for Grizzlies fans. Dillon Brooks all but put on a Lakers jersey in this one, as he was nothing short of a liability for Memphis. He seemingly forgot his role on the team and tried to carry the team’s offense in the first quarter, despite the fact that Stevie Wonder could’ve seen he didn’t have it. He then proceeded to sack-tap LeBron James and get ejected.
The Grizzlies ended up fighting back and making the game close, but the early gap was too much to overcome. They have also let LeBron settle into the first round of the playoffs, and now have the tall task of taking down the King from behind in the series.
Despite a tough start to these playoffs for the Grizzlies, they still look like the better team when they are playing without distractions. Ja Morant is going to lead this offense, so the rest of the team needs to find their roles and play them. They should start hitting LeBron every now and again to make him uncomfortable. Him and Anthony Davis are going to give them 50 plus points a night, but as long as they use all of their weapons, Memphis will be fine. They have the depth to control this series, and they should do that in game four in front of LA’s sorry excuse for a home field advantage. Take Memphis to even the series in game four.
