Game Analysis:

I could make this easy. I could just look at both of these teams’ records and their points totals and say, “I bet Notre Dame will win this weekend”. However, I like to cover all my bases on games between two elite teams. And while the allure of Sam Hartman and his luscious locks is high, I won’t let it charm me. Clemson has a legitimate case for winning this game, so I think you’re safe going either way on this one.

The Clemson Tigers are an elite football team that’s just had a bad run of form. While I will grant you that playing Notre Dame isn’t exactly the type of easy bounceback win this team hoped to play, it can still be that for them. They are a team that is very capable of winning games. Especially when an anonymous bum calls into Dabo’s radio show and tries to flame him. If I was anyone on the Notre Dame roster I would be tracking that kid down and yelling at him. If you don’t think telling a coach who has won two Natty’s in seven years that he stinks changes anything for this Clemson team then you don’t know football. This team was just given the biggest reason to go out there and prove their stuff against an elite football program: pride.

Notre Dame is still Notre Dame though. Let’s not get anything twisted here. Audric Estime may be the definition of a power back. If I was given the choice between tackling him and a train, I may be thinking about that decision a lot longer than I’d like to admit. He’s top 10 in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns this year. Woof. I don’t think anyone would care if I brought up the heart-throb of the league either in Sam Hartman. This man is breaking hearts and breaking records wherever he goes. He’s got over 2,000 passing yards and 18 passing touchdowns. Not to mention the two touchdowns he’s rushed for at this juncture. This is the same Notre Dame team that straight-up embarrassed Caleb Williams just two games ago.

Notre Dame may be the better team, but Clemson is going to be much more motivated heading into this matchup. Bet on either team in this one.
