Game Analysis:
I’m not entirely sure what to say here. Should I talk about how Bubble Murray is back to drop 40+ on your head? Should I talk about how Nikola Jokic is still a reigning back-to-back MVP? Should I talk about how today’s NBA has no room for double big lineups and the pure pace of the Nuggets is going to be way too much for the T-Wolves to handle? There is just so much to talk about and so little time to do it. Oh, and if it wasn’t clear yet the Nuggets are absolutely winning this game.
The Timberwolves are a team that crawled into the playoffs on duct tape, spit, and grit. And unfortunately, that won’t be enough to win a game against the well-oiled machine that is this Nuggets team. They have a lineup right now whose second-highest scorer is only getting 13.5 points per game. That’s like bringing a Taser to a shooting range and expecting to hit any of the targets. KAT and Gobert are both getting double-digit rebounds per game in the playoffs but what’s the point if you’re going to squander all of those opportunities on bricks and airballs? Not to mention the fact that the chemistry on this team seems to be at an all-time low. Unlike the Nuggets, the most assists per game for the T-Wolves is only five and there is no indication that that stat is going to increase anytime soon. I wish I could say something nice about this team other than Anthony Edwards is putting on a clinic but there is nothing to say. I guess other than good luck.
The Nuggets were top of the West for a reason. What’s insane to me is that this team was top of the West, and then as the playoffs started, they got even better. Now they have Jamal Murray scoring 32 points per game on 50% shooting. Did I mention that he’s number two on the team? The number one is Nikola Jokic, who is averaging 20 points per game, grabbing 11.5 rebounds per game, and giving 7.5 assists per game. This mountain of a man can still pass the ball as well as any guard not named John Stockton or Magic Johnson, and of course who’s gonna stop him from getting his double-digit rebounds. I don’t know what is going to stop the combination of Jokic and Murray but I can promise you it’s not anything the Timberwolves throw at them.
The Nuggets are a pretty sizeable chunk ahead of the Timberwolves in terms of skill, I would take the Nuggets in this one. Bet on the Nuggets, and get $100 in bonus bets instantly!
