Game Analysis:
So right off the bat, Ohio State should absolutely win this game. Their playoff hopes hinge on them going undefeated in the rest of the regular games, and I don’t think their dreams will be dashed this weekend. Sure, it might be closer than some people anticipate, but I think they should get it done. That being said, make sure you take advantage of this sweet offer from our sportsbook friends.
So Minnesota is not a terrible football team, but they are pretty firmly middle of the pack. Defensively there are some positives to talk about though. Kaliakmanis has been alright, throwing for around 1500 yards, 13 touchdowns and 7 picks. Daniel Jackson has been great at receiver, definitely a bright spot on this Gophers offense. The running back room is also alright, but kind of banged up at the moment. Now defense is where they are at their best, especially against the pass only allowing 227 passing yards a game which is not bad in my book. All that being said I just don’t think it will be enough for them to beat the Buckeyes.
Now Ohio State dropped back down to #2 in the CFP rankings, but I think they are one of the few teams that actually has a shot at hanging a banner this year. They have a top 30 offense by points scored, and also a top 85 defense by points allowed. They’re fairly well-rounded and have a roster filled with studs at every position. McCord, while not Stroud, is a solid choice at quarterback with over 2600 passing yards, 20 touchdowns, and just 4 interceptions. Marvin Harrison Jr. might be the best wide receiver prospect we have seen in a long, long time as he already has over 1000 receiving yards and 12 receiving touchdowns on the season. Unreal stuff. The Buckeyes also have a very good running back room, along with a defense that should really give Minnesota some trouble in this one.
Ohio State is a better team that has won more consistently than Minnesota this season. If you’re going to bet, bet on Ohio State.
