This is interesting. Despite Tulane having a very good season last year, the visiting South Alabama Jaguars are underdogs by less than a touchdown + extra point. Granted, the Jags also had a very good year finishing their season up 10-3 with a brutal loss to wrap it all up. Tulane has struggled to stop the air attack and the Jags have a pretty electric offense with fairly balanced passing and rushing games. South Alabama also has a defense that is more solid than my pickup line game, but to be fair that isn’t saying much. Their defense was ranked 26th in division one by opponent scoring, only allowing 21.3 points a game. Will that be enough to slow down the Green Wave?
If you ask me I would say probably not. This Tulane team was gross last year and should continue that into the 2023 season. They’re the 24th best team in the nation currently and should get some respect on their name. In their last game they were able to beat the formidable Trojans of USC, and had a top 20 offense by points scored and a top 32 defense in points allowed. That team is more well rounded than the kid Willy Wonka turned into a blueberry. That all combined with an electric home crowd in a sweet city is making me think that Tulane should have this one in the bag.
