Game Analysis:
It’s time for what is in my opinion the best playoffs out of any sport. The battle for the Stanley Cup is unlike any other postseason race, and we have a great first round matchup between the defending champion Avalanche, and the young expansion team the Kraken. Here is what you should know to make the most out of this sweet offer from BetMGM.
Wow game four was electric. After jumping out to an early lead, the Kraken gave up two goals in the 2nd which leveled the game. No other goals were scored in regulation, which led to a thrilling overtime. A power play goal for Eberle sealed it, and tied up the series. Now the Kraken have looked very solid. They had almost double the amount of shots on goal as the Avs, and only gave up 22. Colorado has seemed almost lazy, like they think they can rest on their laurels and this series will be handed to them. The Kraken are hungry and despite being a new team, have some experienced players. Jared McCann, Vince Dunn, and Jordan Eberle have been a great big three, and their supporting cast has looked like some grinders. After an embarrassing inaugural year this Kraken team is dangerous, threatening to knock out the defending champs. The series is all tied up, but Colorado is definitely not beat just yet.
The Avalanche on the other hand have been sloppy. They were able to barely win game two, and win by two in game three, but the Kraken look hungry and as we all know the hungry dog runs faster. Despite their constant slow starts, this team can still make a run which starts with winning this series. I mean, they have Makar, MacKinnon, Rantanen, Georgiev and a hell of a lot more studs. I think this team needed somewhat of a reality check, and honestly, it could have been a lot worse. They only let up 3 goals on over 40 shots, while scoring twice on less than 25 shots. The boys need to get their heads screwed on right, and put more shots on net. They’ve been missing way too much wide but once they get more on net it should prove to be too much for Grubauer who has not looked great this year, especially this series. I think going back to Colorado will be good for the Avalanche, and this team can win game 5 to give them the advantage to advance.
