It’s time for what is in my opinion the best playoffs out of any sport. The battle for the Stanley Cup is unlike any other postseason race, and we have a great first round matchup between Boston and Florida in what has been a pretty exciting series so far. The Bruins are looking to close it out with a win in Florida in game six, but the Panthers will do their best to extend the series to a game seven. Here’s what you should know to make the most out of this sweet offer from BetMGM.
Wow what a way to grind that one out Florida. Going up by one goal three separate times and grinding to get their leads back was wild to watch. The Bruins made several critical mistakes once again, and the Panthers were able to take advantage of it. Most important was a brutal turnover from Ullmark to set up the game winning overtime goal from Matthew Tkachuk. Sergei Bobrovsky played an excellent game, facing 47 shots and only letting up 3 goals, an absolutely incredible performance. The Sams were out in full force as both Bennett and Reinhart netted go ahead goals, and Florida was able to take advantage of another poor Ullmark performance putting in 4 goals on less than 30 shots. Also important to note, 2/3 of the Bruins goals were off of the power play, and Sergei only let up one even strength goal all game. The kitchen is starting to get hot for Bruins fans.
Now the Bruins are still firmly in control of this series, and have two more opportunities to close this out, with one of those games potentially being at home. Some positives about this game; the power play looked great. Two goals on five penalties is pretty solid, but the downside is outside of the man advantage the Bruins struggled to put anything past Bobrovsky. Taylor Hall has been absolutely unreal, Marchand is awesome, and Bergy is back which is great and he has been an immediate impact on the faceoff and the stat sheet with a power play goal. This team needs their captain, so having him back is huge not just for this series, but for all of the playoffs in general. The big issue this game was Ullmark and stupid turnovers. If Ullmark can return to his regular season form and Boston can stop turning the puck over in terrible positions, then this team should absolutely be able to win this series in six, and hopefully many more series to come. I like a Bruins bounceback in this one.
