Game Analysis:
The Diamondbacks and the Rockies. I wish I could say this was going to be a great old-fashioned, southwestern series. But the unfortunate reality of these two teams is that one has a legitimate chance to make the postseason and the other does not. I honestly don’t know if the Rockies have had a winning record in the last few years, much less this season. They have been disappointing from start to finish and I expect that streak to continue. The Diamondbacks have been disappointing in the second half of the season, but they still have a chance to make the postseason and they have shown in the first half of the year that they have the talent to win. Expect them to come out firing again.
The Colorado Rockies are not a good MLB team. But you didn’t need me to tell you that. They currently have a record of 49 and 84, and sit 34 games back of their own division title. That is in fact dead last for all of you who were wondering. At the time of writing this they have won 1 of their last 10 games and none of those series, and I don’t really see much fight left in these guys. But hey, who can blame them? There is a 0% chance they make the playoffs, and once that permeates around a locker room it gets tough to keep fighting through the regular season. That’s not to say it’s all doom and gloom for the Rockies. I love their third baseman, Ryan McMahon, who’s been the diamond in the rough for this team. He’s got 22 home runs, 67 RBIs, and a .249 batting average, which looks especially great compared to the players on his team.
The Diamondbacks are a cut above in this case. They have shown that they have elite upside and when the end of your season is on the line you usually play to that potential. The D-backs have four times the amount of hitters past the 20 home run mark in comparison to the Rockies, and one of said hitters, Christian Walker, also has 87 RBIs. Not saying that’s a whole heck of a lot better than the Rockies but uh….well only one of these teams is in playoff contention. I would also like to take this moment to point out that defense wins championships, and two-thirds of the Diamondback’s outfield has 0 errors and a 100% fielding percentage.
The Diamondbacks are a team looking to make the playoffs. Bet on Arizona and get $200 in bonus bets!
