Game Analysis:

After some extremely questionable primetime matchups for several weeks now, we finally get to cap off week 11 with arguably the best matchup of the season on Monday Night Football: last year’s super bowl rematch between the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Kansas City Chiefs. Both teams remain just as dominant as last season, with both of them currently sitting at the top of their respective conferences. Both teams are also coming off of bye weeks, so each will be well rested for their biggest test of the season.

The visiting Philadelphia Eagles come into Arrowhead with an 8-1 record, and have looked great by all accounts, but it still feels like they can reach another level than what we’ve seen. They’ve had some close games recently, as each of their last two wins was a one score comeback win over a divisional rival. While Jalen Hurts is still playing at an MVP caliber level this season, his turnover numbers are higher than he would like, as he’s thrown 8 interceptions already. However, his chemistry with WR AJ Brown has been better than ever, as Brown has been borderline unstoppable this year posting a ridiculous 6 straight games of 125+ receiving yards, a streak that finally ended in their last game against the Cowboys. The offensive line is also as dominant as usual, and thus remains a very complete football team, as well as the clear NFC favorites.

The hosting, and defending super bowl champions, Kansas City Chiefs are still riding high with a 7-2 record going into this matchup, but they’ve been winning with a different formula than usual this season. While everyone is accustomed to this offense with Mahomes and Kelce putting up massive numbers and carrying the team, it is actually their top ranked defense that has been at the forefront of their success this year. Getting DE Chris Jones back following a contract dispute was huge, and they’ve never looked back since. Obviously this offense is still really good, and Mahomes and Kelce are having big seasons again, but they have not had as many explosive plays as we’re used to from the Chiefs, so the development of their defense ensures that they remain the class of the NFL. However, I’m backing the Eagles in this one to win a tough road game and get some revenge for last year’s super bowl, but it could easily go either way in what I expect to be a back and forth matchup. Bet on either team!
