Game Analysis:

The Angels season has the same trajectory as my happiness now that school’s started again: straight down. I think any team in the MLB can beat them right now, and that is by no means an exaggeration. They have sold a lot of their best pieces already and who knows what will happen with Shohei when the season ends now that he’s sustained the pitching injury. I honestly don’t care who the Angels play at this point I think it’s always a good idea to bet against them. The Guardians are only six games back right now when it comes to the race for the AL Central, and they are going to be doing everything they can to claw their way to the Division title. This iteration of the Angels team will not stand in the way. They’ll be about as tough to break as a sandcastle.

The Los Angeles Angels are simply not a good team right now. I don’t know what else to say about them. They had such high hopes to start off this year, and now they could honestly be beaten out by Oakland and take the bottom slot in the AL West. (No, not actually but they definitely are gonna end this season abysmally). Now they may not have lost some of their most elite pieces recently, but I think losing Hunter Renfroe is a bigger deal than people are making it out to be, and when you learn that the best pitcher on your roster won’t pitch for you the rest of this season it begins to deflate any momentum you might have had as the postseason draws closer. I’m bloviating a slight bit in terms of how bad the Angels have actually gotten but they’re definitely a far cry from where they started at this season. I don’t see them winning many more games.

The Cleveland Guardians on the other hand have a good chance to make some noise as the season draws to a close. They’re fighting for the top spot in a division with a real chance of securing it. You tell me how that doesn’t feed into a team’s energy and morale. Every game that Cleveland plays from here on out is a critical one, and they are going to do everything they can to win all of them. And why couldn’t they? They have an elite team, with some elite talent. Talent such as Jose Ramirez who has looked completely unstoppable behind the plate so far this season. He has hit 21 home runs, with a .270 batting average, and 72 RBIs. If guys like him come to play against the Angels there is no reason why Cleveland can’t win this series.

The Cleveland Guardians have the momentum and desire heading into this series. Bet on Cleveland and get your own Friday Beers merch!
