Game Analysis:

Either of these teams could win this game. I am not in the habit of lying and I won’t start now. As of June 28th when I’m writing this there is only one game difference between the records of these teams and that sums up their talent difference pretty well. I wish that I could give you more guidance on a winner, but I can give you the information for you to make your best, and most responsible baseball picks.

The Cleveland Guardians have been a solid team in the first half of this MLB season. They are sitting atop the American League Central Division right now, but that comes with a losing record of 38 and 40. This is barely a losing record mind you but still 2 games under .500. In terms of hitting talent they have Jose Ramirez who has a .294 hitting average which is pretty insane and has already accumulated 12 ding dongs at this point in the season. He is not the only member of this Cleveland team to reach double digits in homers however as first baseman Josh Naylor now has 10. The real strength of this team however is their ability to get on base and have their sluggers send the boys home. Naylor has 57 RBIs this season already to go with his 10 homers, which puts him fifth in the league for that stat. Not too shabby.

The Chicago Cubs have a slightly worse record than the Cleveland Guardians at 37 and 40, but being in a better division sees them at third in the Central Division of the National League. The Cubs also have two players in the double-digits for slugging with third baseman Patrick Wisodm hitting 14 of them, and centerfielder Christopher Morel with 13. The one big difference between these two offensively seems to be their RBI totals. The Cubs do not have anyone with more than 40 this season, which either means that their distribution of hitting is a lot higher than the Guardians, or they are a lot worse. In terms of fielding Cody Bellinger and Ian Happ both have a 100% in fielding percentage which makes the outfield of the Cubs pretty darn scary.

Both of these teams have a legitimate case of winning this ball game. Bet on either team and get your own Friday Beers merch!
