Game Analysis:

Well, as with any game the Royals have been in this season they absolutely cannot be favored. I mean I won’t pretend to be a Mets fan, but let’s get real. They’re not that bad this season. When the team the Mets are playing is 25 games back from the top of the American League Central Division…I’m gonna tell you to take the Mets. The Royals have a couple of fun players, but uh, yea, they’re barely a baseball team. Let’s just be honest with ourselves here. This is the one series out of the year where you shouldn’t worry about taking the Mets.

Ok, something kind to say about the Kansas City Royals. You guys play in the same city as two-time Super Bowl Champions Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce which is pretty cool. They’re a team that plays in Major League Baseball, which is also neat. They even have more than 20 wins already which honestly feels like it deserves a round of applause or something at least. Ok, ok, I’ve had my fun. I’ll be fair now. While this team has strung together only a few wins to this point in the season they do have a couple of solid players that they field. On the hitting side of the ball, they have Salvador Perez who has accumulated 17 homers with a .249 batting average which is nothing to turn your nose up at. I would also like to shout out shortstop Bobby Witt Junior who is leading the team in RBIs with 51 of them things so far. In terms of fielding Second Baseman Michael Massey is at least playing serviceably with only 1 error on the season and a DWAR of 1.1.

But let’s all be honest with ourselves, there is a better team between these two. And I’m not just saying that because of the roster’s price point. The Met’s have this cool guy named Pete Alonso on their team. I don’t know if you’ve heard of him before, but he’s pretty good at the game of baseball. He has 28 home runs and 68 RBIs so far this season, and honestly, might be disappointed that he doesn’t have more. Besides Pete, the Mets have two other players who also have more home runs than anyone on the Royals. I’m not saying that having better hitters than the other team will win you a game, but on the other hand, it will absolutely help you win games. Let’s shift to the Mets fielding to see if the Royals have them in that department. Oh, would you look at that, the entire Mets starting outfield has 3 errors to their collective name. That’s better than the Royals. Again.

I would like to say this series is anyone’s, but I also don’t want to lie to my readers. Bet on either team and get your own Friday Beers merch!
