The Marlins have been sneaky good this season. They’re 5 games above .500 and are just third in their stacked division. Both the AL and NL East are so good. Miami has a not amazing offense but their defense has been good enough to keep them in a favorable position. Despite only scoring 4.1 runs a game the Marlins have a top-five batting average in the league hitting .260 as a team. People forget Luis Arraez was hitting .400 for a good chunk of the season, and is still above the .350 mark. Jon Berti has also been a stud, as have several pitchers like Luzardo and Garrett. Will this be enough for them to upset the Phillies in a series in Philadelphia?
If you ask me I would say probably not. The Phillies are so hot and the fans have such an impact on how their players play. Just look at how Trea Turner has turned around since the standing ovations. This team is simply too good, too star-studded, and too hot to fade right now in my opinion. The Phillies are a top-ten team in terms of runs scored a game as well as tied for twelfth in runs allowed. Stott, Bohm, Harper, Marsh, and Rojas are all hitting above .270 which is just insane. The pitchers have also been good especially good ‘ol Zach Wheeler. This team is well-rounded and firing on all cylinders and I think they should win this series.
