Game Analysis:

It’s another installment of the battle for Pennsylvania as the Phillies travel to Pittsburgh visiting one of the coolest ballparks in America and take on the Pirates. Here’s what you should know to responsibly make the most out of this sweet offer from our friends at BetMGM.

Man the Pirates really did start out hot but cooled down quick. They’re now 44-57 and 5th in the NL Central. With the emergence of Elly De La Cruz, it seems like everyone has forgotten about the other young exciting Cruz who is currently injured. Despite having below average offense and defense, the Pirates still find ways to win. Bryan Reynolds and Andrew McCutchen have been solid, as have Mitch Keller, Dauri Moreta, and David Bednar. They will have home field advantage in this series, but it seems like the Phillies are better in almost every category. I guess the Pirates have to hope the Phils will struggle on the road.

Now the Phillies seem to have righted the ship after some early season struggles and currently sit 2nd in the NL East with a record of 54-47. Overall runs scored and allowed the Phillies are pretty middle of the pack, but they get a lot of hits and don’t allow their opponents many. The pitching has been above average with a combined ERA of 4.04 compared to the Pirates 4.55, with a whip of 1.24. The Phillies have the star power with Trea Turner, Nick Castellanos, a struggling Kyle Schwarber, JT Realmuto, Brandon Marsh, and Bryce Harper. Austin Nola and Zach Wheeler have been great, and overall the starting pitching has been very good while the bullpen has been inconsistent. I think overall the Phillies are a more well rounded team and should have the advantage in this one, I like them to win the series.

Who’s gonna win this year’s rendition of the Pennsylvania Classic? Who knows, but bet on either team and get your own Friday Beers merch!
