Game Analysis:

After splitting a two game series at the beginning of the season where Kenley Jansen picked up his 400th save, the Braves are shipping out to Boston to meet the Sox at Fenway park. Here’s what you should know about this series.

Wow the Braves have been so good for so long. They are first in the entire National League and boast the most wins in baseball with 62. They’re 2nd overall in runs scored per game and tied for 4th in runs allowed per game. They get 9.2 hits a game on average, have the second highest team batting average, and the 6th best team ERA. Acuna Jr. has been a beast, and out of their entire everyday roster only one player is hitting below .250. Strider, Morton, and Elder have been really good pitching, and while some of the revliers have struggled a bit overall they’ve been solid. Sure they’ll be on the road but any given game the Braves will probably be favored.

Now the Sox should be much better in my opinion. Their ownership refuses to spend the type of money that you have to to win championships these day, and the Mighty Boston Red Sox are stuck playing a sort of Moneyball. Despite that, they’re ahead of the Yankees and still in contention in the hardest division in all of professional sports, boastin a 51-46 record which I think is pretty solid. They’re tied for fifth in runs scored per game, tied for third in hits, and fourth overall in batting average as the team is currently hitting .263. Justin Turner and Masataka Yoshida have proven to be great additions, and Duran and Casas continue to develop with Jarren hitting .312 with 29 doubles and a pair of three-baggers. Brayan Bello has been an absolute stud, Kutter Crawford has improved, and James Paxton was another great addition with a 3.51 ERA over 59 innings pitched. While this team is sort of rag-tag, they’re hot and very dangerous at home. I like the value on the Red Sox to win this series.
