Game Analysis:
Man will this be a good series. A rematch of last year’s American League Championship Series where the Astros swept the Yankees with some playoff implications this time around as well. Here is what you should know to responsibly take advantage of this sweet offer from our friends at BetMGM.
Oh, how the mighty have fallen. As a Red Sox fan the only thing that compares to seeing my Sox succeed is seeing those damn Yankees fail. Despite being a couple games above .500 the Yanks are in dead last in the AL East with a record of 55-51. Their offense is pretty stagnant coming in at tied for 20th in the MLB averaging 4.3 runs a game. Defensively, however, they’re tied in the top ten allowing 4.3 runs a game. They only allow 7.8 hits a game which is tied for second in the entire league. The pitching staff as a whole has a sub 4 ERA which is solid and is tied for the top two in the MLB only allowing a .233 batting average to their opponents. Thank goodness for the sanity of Yankees fans but Aaron Judge is back and leads the team in batting average and home runs despite missing a significant amount of time. Gerrit Cole is one of the main reasons the Yanks are still in it with his nine pitching wins. Can this team win a series against the defending champs?
I don’t think so. The Astros are 60-47 and second in the AL West. They have a top 11 offense and tied for top 6 defense by runs scored and allowed. They score half a run more than the Yankees on average and allow their opponents to score less. Their batters have higher averages and their pitchers have lower ERAs. 6-4 in their last 10 games played, it’s time for the Astros to turn it on and it starts with this Yankees series. Kyle Tucker, Yordan Alvarez, and Chas McCormick have been gross, and the starting pitching has been more than solid. Overall this is one of the more well rounded teams in the MLB and I think they will be able to waltz into the Bronx and come away with a series win. But who knows… It’s baseball, anything can happen!!
Always gamble responsibly and take my thoughts with a grain of salt! Bet on either team and get your own Friday Beers merch!
