Game Analysis:
Week 10 of college football is here and I couldn’t be more excited. East Carolina hosts the Tulane University Green Wave this week, and are looking for a statement win. East Carolina is not currently ranked with their record of 1-7, and after their last win over Rice, Tulane is ranked 21st in the nation. Going based off of ranks I think Tulane is going to take this game and keep their season alive.
So East Carolina has struggled this year. They’re averaging less than 300 total yards a game, and just 169 of those come through the air. Their defense has been somewhat respectable, but it has not been enough to make up for the lackluster offense. Chase Sowell has been solid with well over 300 receiving yards and a touchdown. Defensively they are a top 75 team by the points allowed metric, only letting up 26.3 points which is fairly respectable. Will that be enough to upset a ranked Tulane team looking to keep winning?
If you ask me, and Vegas for that matter, I think we would both say probably not. Tulane averages over 100 more yards on offense per game, but also allows around 20 fewer yards defensively. Pratt has done a good job slinging the rock, passing for almost 1400 yards, 14 touchdowns, and only 3 picks. Hughes has been a beast on the ground, and Keys III is a monster through the air, wracking up over 500 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns. I just don’t think that the Pirates’ defense will be able to slow down Tulane, and if Tulane pours on the points, I really doubt that East Carolina will be able to successfully play catchup. Their offense just shouldn’t be up to the task.
Anything could happen, but like I said I couldn’t in good faith tell you I thought the Pirates have a real shot to win this one. Give me the Green Wave.
Always bet responsibly!
