Game Analysis:
This is truly anyone’s game. Two teams ranked real close together going up against each other is NCAAF gold. I can’t wait to see Utah’s brick-wall defense go up against this elite offense led by current Heisman holder Caleb Williams. I would say get your popcorn out for this banger, but I’m sure it’s already out. And don’t you dare ask me to predict this one, both teams could win so I’d feel confident going either way.
So far, Utah has played two ranked teams. Against these two teams, the Ute’s are one and one. In these two games combined the Ute’s let up four touchdowns and no field goals. I don’t like to use terms like elite when it’s unjustified, so trust me on this one, this Utah defense is so real. When your only loss on the season is to Oregon State and you’re number 14 in the country you kinda have to have a real defense. I’m talkin guys like Cole Bishop with two picks, a forced fumble, and two sacks to his name. Or Safety Sione Vaki who is such an athletic beast that he’s taken some snaps in the backfield for Utah’s offense, and rushed for two tuddies.
If there is one offense that does have the talent to overcome this great defense it would be the Trojans. I don’t know how much you need me to bloviate about Caleb Williams. I mean he has the trophy to prove how good he is, but I’ll go through some of his stats just in case. 2,021 yards, 23 touchdowns in the air, six on the ground, and only four picks. His aerial attack is assisted by the fact that this run game is pretty darn amazing too. MarShawn Lloyd has rushed for 565 yards along with five touchdowns of his own at this point in the season. Between the passing and running attack of this football team, I worry that the Utah defense may find themselves on the silly end of some highlight reels.
Utah’s defense against USC’s offense will be a great matchup to watch. Bet on either team and get a shirt from the Friday Beers Store On Us!
