God, I just love march. Spring Break is coming up, the weather is getting warmer (finally), and basketball is about to peak. The Big Ten conference championship is what we’re focusing on today and my goodness is it going to be electric. Well, mostly for Illinois I should say.

The Fighting Illini are going into the end-of-season tourney with a chance to slide into a top spot. If they’re able to pull off a tournament win here that could be huge for their seeding in March Madness. But they won’t have to worry about Purdue until their final game. Right now they have their sights set on whichever poor sap has to face them in their first conference game. Illinois hasn’t gotten to their second seed by accident, they’ve got a potent offense with a 16th-best-in-the-country rebounding stat to back it up. If you’re not locked in you could easily see the Illinis getting third-chance points on most of their possessions while limiting you to one. Give me Illinois in this one.
