Man oh man will this game be one you don’t want to miss, and if you’re watching you might as well responsibly gamble on it, right? Number 17 Kentucky is hosting number 13 Alabama in what should be a spectacular SEC showdown.
Now we all know how Alabama plays basketball. Fast, fast, fast. As a result of that they score 91 points a game on average which is the highest total in the NCAA. Their defense is pretty poor, but it’s still hard to lose when you score that many points. This team is as red hot as the sauce, 8-2 in their last ten and winners of their last three. Mark Sears is having himself a season, averaging over 20 points a game, and three of his teammates are also over the 10 points a game mark. Almost everyone seems to help contribute though as this bench is deeper than the Mariana Trench. Still, walking into Kentucky and walking out with a win is a tough task, but can they do it?
Honestly, I kind of like the value on the Wildcats in this one. They also have an electric offense averaging 87.6 which is good for third in the NCAA, not too far behind the Crimson Tide. They definitely do have the defensive edge in this one, and that can really have an effect on a game. Kentucky started red hot but has kind of cooled off as of late, 5-5 in their last ten and with an L their last time out. Antonio Reeves leads scoring with a touch under 20, but four others are above 10 points a game. Home court advantage is huge in battles like this, and I think that could be enough combined with their talent to defend their home court and beat Bama.
