Let’s not pretend this game is going to be anything that it isn’t. The Boilermakers are going to welcome Rutgers into their gym and promptly squash them like a bug. This is what they do. Their pattern this year has been, win a million games, have a weird loss, win a million games, have a weird. And guess what just happened? They had a weird loss. Give me Purdue everything in this game.

Rutgers have been a fine basketball team. I won’t pretend they’re terrible. But also, they’re not good. In fact, they’ve already played and lost to Purdue this season. They have only a six and eight record in the Big Ten, and only one win against a ranked team this season. Now you want to put them up against the third-best team statistically in the country? Good luck.

Speaking of that third-best NCAA team in the country let’s discuss those Boilermakers. They have lost three total games this entire season. That’s less than half of the losses that Rutgers have within their own conference. They still have Zach Edey who has been averaging 23.2 points per game and 11.9 rebounds per game. That puts him in the top three of the entire NCAA in those stats. Oh, and he’s got a running mate in Braden Smith who leads the team in assists with 7.2. So not only can Zach Edey create his own shot, but now you’ve gotta worry about an elite college point guard making that shot creation even easier.
