Well ladies and gentlemen, it’s finally here: The Big Game. I don’t think I’m legally allowed to call it anything else, so get ready for those two words to be overused!
It all comes down to this. Weeks and weeks of football all culminating in one final showdown between the Chiefs and 49ers. Here is what you should know.
Now the 49ers have looked like two very different teams at times this year. At their best, they’re an unstoppable force with stars at every position steamrolling the competition, and at their worst, they’re losing to teams like the Vikings or a beat-up Bengals squad. Brock Purdy has proven the haters wrong, putting together an amazing season proving when healthy he can lead a winning team. To be fair, his supporting cast is probably the best in the NFL, with players like McCaffrey, Aiyuk, Samuel, and Kittle always ready to make a play. They scored the third most points per game in the league with 28.9, but also had defense more solid than the friend of the cute girl at the bar you want to talk to. “Go away she’s not interested”. Fred Warner, Dre Greenlaw, Charvarius Ward, Nick Bosa, and more make up this robust defense. Will this be enough to take down Taylor Swift and the Chiefs?
Sorry, I had to mention her at least once for the SEO. I’m a sellout. Anyways, Patrick Mahomes is an underdog in this game, which almost makes it an auto bet. It seems like whenever Mahomes really tries he can come out with a win despite not having the weapons in this Big Game that he has in years past. The Chiefs run game has been solid led by Pacheco who will really prove to be someone the Niners will have to look out for this weekend. Kelce despite falling short of another one thousand-yard season was dominant, scoring almost every game it seemed. Even though the Chief’s offense was effective, their strength was on the other side of the ball. Defensively they were a top-three team, allowing just over 310 yards a game and a hair over 17 points both of which were exceptional. Reid, McDuffie, Sneed, Gay, Bolton, Jones, and co are all studs and should do a good job of making Purdy’s life a little less purdy.
All that being said, this game really could go either way and we should be in for a treat. If you do wager on this game make sure to bet responsibly, and enjoy the last taste of football we have for a while.
