Although there isn’t anything they can do about their falling short of a postseason bid this season, they have an opportunity to be better positioned coming into next season with a bowl win. Miami was still one of the more impressive teams this season. Going 6-2 in ACC play with a record of 10-2 overall. After ending the regular season with a loss to Syracuse in the ACC Championship Game, a win in one of the more coveted bowl games would be a great consolation prize and a step in the right direction for next season.

The Iowa State Cyclones were also among the more impressive teams during the regular season. They finished third place in a highly competitive Big 12 conference with a record of 7-2 in conference play with an overall record of 10-3. However, when you look at the strength of the Cyclones’ schedule, it leaves a lot to be desired. They played one ranked team all season. That was the 12th-ranked Arizona State Sun Devils in the Big 12 Championship game and they got trounced by a score of 19-45.

The Hurricanes are slight favorites in this matchup by a 3.5-point margin over the Cyclones. Oddsmakers have this one as a high-scoring affair with the over/under marked at 55.5 points.
